The Sentient Vegetarian Diet

Dada Vedaprajinananda talks about the diet that is followed by yogis and other spiritual practitioners. The sentient vegetarian diet is based on yoga’s understanding of the fundamental vibrations of nature and how this affects food.  The main idea of the sentient vegetarian diet is to choose food that is good for the mind as well as the body.

  1. Monsanto put a lot of money into the Vegan diet movement thinking there would be a lot of money to be made from their soy products and thus Veganism quickly popped out from obscurity. Now Veganism has overwritten the original Sattvik Vegetarian diet of the 1960’s and early 70’s first made popular by the Hari Krishna movement and further empowered by Ananda Marga. Today many restaurants label “Vegetarian Lasagne” and “Vegetarian Burritos” that contain eggs. Recently a restaurant displayed “Vegetarian Kiish.” Each time I saw these deceptive labels, I confronted the staff with: Eggs are not vegetable, they are animal embryos and do not grow from plants or trees. I said it would be correct to say vegetable Kiish and not vegetarian kiish. These employees and their managers would not budge on the issue. Baba Nam Kevalam
